Thank you, Sheldon
Very well done, the coordination of images and colors.
I really appreciate that. Thank you.
I like the general looseness which underscores the chaos of the situation against the figures in sharp focus.
This is really beautiful, Alf! I love the expression on the face and the colors! I had a friend die in a tragic house fire last year. The houses we are in are so old that it just was gone in a matter of minutes. We live in a remote area so the firefighters couldn’t get here fast enough. I painted a picture of her, Mary, that is on my blog.
I am sorry to hear about your friend. My condolences to you and her family.
I tried to capture the moment of desperation and the emotion from my friend photo’s. The firemen in my painting were struggling to extinguished the blaze at Senen market, the great old market in central Jakarta, but they didn’t have enough access to water, and also there were narrow alleys inside.
Thank you, Alf. Her husband really liked the portrait. That’s all that mattered to me, you know? That must have been hard on the firefighters. Where is Jakarta?
The capitol city of Indonesia, Patsy.
Thanks, sorry, I am not so familiar with capitols of other countries! 😉
It’s okay, Patsy. 😊
